The scene of Battle Royale games started with the ever classic Players Unknown Battle Grounds, also known as PUBG. As time progressed, many games stepped into this whole new genre. Names like Apex Legends, HyperFront, Fortnite, Naraka: Bladepoint came in along with some other titles to earn their place.

Apex Legends is doing great, Fortnite is always the classic, even titles like Naraka: Bladepoint, Super People, Spellbreak, Vampire: The Masquerade-BloodHunt had their share of time, unfortunately HyperFront was a total failure (Sorry Ubisoft, no hard feelings.)

But amidst the internal battle between these titles came a Battle Royale title with a supreme level of hype. It came as a ray of hope for gamers before the lockdown and acted as a means of survival for many gamers, all thanks to its theme and message it delivered indirectly which was to ‘Survive’.

Many content creators even earnt a livelihood through live streaming this game’s incredible gameplay. What came in as an additional extension and a separate Free-to-play Battle Royale game in association with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019), became the next sensation in the world of Battle Royale games.

Yes, we’ve been talking and singing all those praises of our favorite game for the past 3 years, the one and only ‘Call of Duty: Warzone’!! From the studio that gave you the memorable military FPS titles like:

  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2007)
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009)
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2011)
  • Call of Duty: Ghosts (2013)
  • Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (2016)
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019)
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022)

Infinity Ward, currently a part of Activision, now brings to you a free-to-play Battle Royale game that lets you play Solo, Duo or Squad where 150 players take off on a plane and jump towards their locations on iconic maps as witnessed through its beautiful evolution.

Only a non-Warzone player would be bewildered on hearing names such as Verdansk, Caldera, Al-Mazrah and the ever classic Call of Duty map of Alcatraz. While Alcatraz only comes under the Rebirth Island mode, the rest of the maps come under the regular Battle Royale and Plunder mode.

This was a game which taught the real definition of management with respect to resources such as time, money, ammunition, armor plates, weapons, perks and most importantly, their optimized utilization. This game is the reason why your computer sometimes runs out of storage.

This is the game that reminds us constantly that life is all about that ‘Second chance’. Don’t you get it, oh what a dork you are. I’m talking about the Gulag, where elimination matches define your re-entry or a straight way to exit.

This game has seen many content creators flourish and it seems to age like fine wine with occasional addition and removal of features, nerfs and buffs and so much more. It adapted well with the introduction of guns and characters from the titles that came after 2019’s Modern Warfare. Warzone has recently upgraded itself with Modern Warfare 2 (2022) with features like TPP gameplay, DMZ mode, enemy interrogation, new Jailer of the new 2-versus-2 based Gulag and many more.

In short, Warzone has gone through a lot since its origin and is a game that has a huge scope with respect to further improvements. But this is just half of the big-picture. With the recent developments in the mobile gaming industry, Activision has realized with its efforts with Call of Duty Mobile that it is high time and the bar needs to be raised.

With mobile-based Battle Royale titles already in the scene such as PUBG Mobile/PUBG: New State, Apex Legends Mobile and even Call of Duty Mobile’s very own Battle Royale mode, it’s time the world gets its hands-on access to the premiere standard of Battle Royale games after the efforts being made for Apex Legends, so without any further ado, allow me to introduce you all to our new contender inside the mobile-based Battle Royale games arena: Call of Duty Warzone Mobile!!!

Duh!! Happy Realization Day!! Okay, bad jokes apart, but if you had the patience to read till here, then perhaps reading a bit more won’t be harmful to your health, right?! (image courtesy: callofduty.com)

Mobile-based battle royale games had to go through a lot considering their past history and some of the infamous recent events. Starting with PUBG mobile which got banned in India and so did its Indian version, BGMI due to national security issues. Although, PUBG: New State remains clean of any allegations but considering PUBG’s past, it still seems to be on vigilance radar.

Activision, with its Call of Duty Mobile game played it 100% safe by going along with the national policies. Plus, there happens to be less amount of hysterical news regarding any insane purchase made inside the game. Electronic Arts also made a huge amount of effort in making Apex Legends a phenomenal hit on mobile devices thanks to their creative team who introduced the concept of 'mobile-exclusive legends' like Rhapsody and Fade.

But Activision had realized that in order to enter the big leagues, just working on the current BR situation of their existing Call of Duty Mobile game won’t cut it. So, they took their best free-to-play battle royale game and hired the best of the best to help the studio adapt the game to mobile platforms. And looking into the initial test results, I must admit that Activision didn’t disappoint us, in fact it exceeded our expectations.

The main reason why Warzone entered the mobile platform was just a simple fact that the majority of PC gaming titles are already making a transition towards mobile platforms because not everyone is able to afford a hundred thousand bucks worth of technology, but everyone is able to afford a smartphone that comes at half the price of a gaming PC. And as per statistical reports, the market of mobile gaming is extremely lucrative. So, luckily, there’s a place for almost any game.

Mobile-based battle royale games.
Introducing the latest contender of the mobile-based Battle Royale arena, ladies and gentlemen, give a huge round of applause to the center of attention and attraction for gamers: Call of Duty Warzone mobile!!!

But enough of the preliminary talks, let’s get down to serious business. What makes Warzone mobile a game worth checking out? Starting with a 120 player count per game session, each match will be held in the classic ‘Verdansk’ map. Just like on PC, players will get a taste of the elimination matches held inside the Gulag. Now as unlikely as it is to witness cross-play between mobile, PC and Console, it still does make sense that Warzone mobile would provide cross-play between Android and iOS.

Cross-progression is a feature that players are really excited about. Players having a Battle Pass will be able to synchronize their progress live with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 . This will be a news of joy for every Warzone player on every platform specifically who looks for an opportunity to get that guns-blazing, bullets-dodging action with a bit of grind anytime, anywhere. As per Warzone mobile’s official page, the pre-registration rewards are as lucrative as the game itself, so that’s another reason why would any mobile gamer want to try Warzone mobile.

The test runs made available for Warzone mobile was recently made available in Australia and as per the news, the amount of Warzone mobile players increased with people everywhere using VPN to avail the gameplay experience. Crazy shit, right?! Well, one thing’s for sure, gamers seem to have a lack of patience. Waited for so long, sure they could have waited a little more. But besides, who’s judging here, anyways. We all are aware of the famous proverb that gamers seem to have literally taken to their hearts: “Desperate times, desperate measures.”

But one thing’s for sure, as per the videos available on YouTube where mobile gaming content creators shared their gameplay and reviews, the overall reviews seem to be positive and the developments in the game seem to be promising enough to deliver the mobile-gaming revolution we’ve been eager to lay our hands-on.

Just like PUBG and Call of Duty Mobile, Warzone mobile can develop its very own competitive esports scene all over the world. In fact, the PC players are doing well as their competitive scene seems to be quite in form. And if Warzone can make up for PC-based esports then so can mobile-based.

I’m sure that Activision will manage everything well in the same way as it did for Call of Duty Mobile’s Multiplayer and Battle Royale. Frankly speaking, the game has to go through a lot of developments and test runs which would affect the gameplay experience but when we will get the final, well-furnished app with polished in-game experience, then trust me, all that patience, all that hype, would be eventually worth it.

So this is what I have on Warzone mobile. If any of you have any recent opinions about Warzone mobile or any of its recent developments, leaks or memes, then you all know the drill. Comment them down!! Till then, this is me signing off from writing duty for the day and going in for a Warzone grind session, because someone’s got to grind the game and get the Battle Pass prizes.

See ya, fellas!!
